Pinterest has 661 million monthly active users (MAU) worldwide. That is the official figure for the third quarter of 2026 (the three months to 30 September 2026), which Pinterest published on 29 October 2026. It is a record high, up 10% on the 600 million reported a year earlier and up 21 million on the previous quarter.

Most of those users are outside the United States and Canada. Pinterest reports 107 million MAU in the US and Canada, 161 million in Europe and 394 million in the Rest of the World. The rest of this guide shows how the numbers have grown, where users are, who they are, and why you will see different figures on different websites. Last updated: 3 November 2026.

Pinterest Monthly Active Users Growth Over Time

Pinterest has added users every quarter in the period below. Between Q2 2025 and Q3 2026 the platform grew from 578 million to 661 million, a gain of 83 million users (about 14%) in five quarters. The biggest single jump in this period was the latest one, with 21 million added between Q2 and Q3 2026.

So, is Pinterest still growing? Yes. It has reported 13 record quarters in a row, although growth slowed to 9 million in Q2 2026 before picking up again in Q3.

Pinterest Monthly Active Users by Region

Pinterest reports users in three regions: US and Canada, Europe, and Rest of the World. The Rest of the World is by far the largest, with about 60% of all users. It is also the fastest growing, up 13% year on year.

The Rest of the World added 47 million users in a year, far more than the US and Canada (4 million) or Europe (11 million). Between Q2 and Q3 2026 it also supplied most of the quarter’s growth, rising from 377 million to 394 million.

Pinterest Users by Country

Pinterest does not publish monthly active users for individual countries. It only gives the three regional totals above. Any country number you see online is usually an estimate of advertising reach, not MAU.

How many Pinterest users are in the US? Pinterest does not give a US-only MAU. The nearest official figure is 107 million for the US and Canada together. DataReportal’s 96.9 million is an advertising estimate, so the two numbers measure different things and should not be averaged.

Pinterest User Demographics: Age and Gender

Pinterest does not publish an official age and gender split of its global MAU in its quarterly results. The most reliable public data comes from surveys, such as the Pew Research Center’s study of US adults. Pew surveyed 5,733 US adults between 19 May and 5 September 2023 and published the results in January 2024.

Share of US adults who say they use Pinterest (Pew, 2023 survey) 36%50%19% All US adultsUS womenUS men Source: Pew Research Center, 2024 report (survey fielded May to September 2023).

Read these figures carefully. Pew found that 50% of US women and 19% of US men use Pinterest. That tells you how common Pinterest is within each group. It does not mean half of Pinterest’s users are women, because the survey does not measure the make-up of the platform’s audience.

Pinterest has also spoken about Gen Z as a fast-growing group. We have not been able to confirm a specific Gen Z percentage from a primary Pinterest source, so we do not quote one here.

Pinterest Monthly Active Users vs Advertising Reach

These two terms are often mixed up, and it is the main reason numbers online disagree. MAU counts real people who were active. Advertising reach estimates how many people an advertiser could target. Marketers planning campaigns, for example in B2B marketing for technology companies, should use reach for budgeting and MAU for judging a platform’s size.

How Does Pinterest Measure Monthly Active Users?

Pinterest counts a monthly active user as a logged-in person who, in the 30 days ending on the last day of the reporting period, does at least one of the following:

  • visits the Pinterest website
  • opens the Pinterest mobile app
  • interacts through a browser or site extension, such as the Save button

Users of the Shuffles app are not counted unless they also qualify through another route. Pinterest does not regularly report daily or weekly active users, and it does not headline a total for registered accounts.

Pinterest vs Other Social Media Platforms

Social platforms do not report users in the same way, so a simple league table can mislead. Pinterest and Snap report monthly figures. Meta reports daily people across its apps. Reddit reports daily and weekly visitors. The table below shows each company’s latest figure I could confirm, with the metric stated.

On a like-for-like monthly basis, Snapchat’s last reported figure of 956 million is higher than Pinterest’s 661 million. For more detail on that platform, see our guide to Snapchat users. Live counts are different again. A game’s concurrent players, such as how many people are playing Fortnite right now, change by the minute, whereas MAU is a 30-day measure reported once a quarter.

Why Do Pinterest User Statistics Differ Across Websites?

ReasonWhat happens
Old quarter still shownMany pages still lead with 640 million (Q2 2026) instead of 661 million (Q3 2026).
MAU mixed with ad reachFigures such as 96.9 million (US) are quoted as if they were MAU.
Survey shares treated as audience mixPew’s 50% of women is read as “half of users are women”.
RoundingRegional totals can differ from the global total by a million or so.
Careless aggregationAt least one statistics page shows 537 million for Q3 2026, which conflicts with Pinterest’s official 661 million.

Pinterest Revenue and Monetisation

Pinterest earns its money mainly from advertising, and many people use it to plan purchases, from home ideas to birthday party decoration. In Q3 2026 revenue was $1,174 million, up 12% year on year. Earnings-call coverage put US and Canada revenue at $894 million, up 14%. That means the US and Canada, with only about 16% of users, brought in roughly three-quarters of the money. Retail is a big part of this, much like the shopping habits covered in our Walmart stats guide.

How to Check Pinterest’s Latest Monthly Active Users

  1. Go to Pinterest Investor Relations and open News and events then Press releases.
  2. Open the latest quarterly results release and find the MAU table.
  3. Check the earnings presentation for the MAU definition and footnotes.
  4. Confirm the figure in the Form 10-Q on the SEC filings page.

Pinterest updates its user numbers every quarter. Q3 2026 results came out on 29 October 2026. The date for Q4 2026 results has not been confirmed by Pinterest, though third-party calendars expect February 2027. If you track audience data alongside customer data, a tool covered in our piece on CRM demand can help you keep these quarterly updates organised.

Sources and Methodology

All MAU, regional and revenue figures come from Pinterest’s Q3 2026 results and earlier quarterly releases and SEC filings. Country ad-reach figures come from DataReportal. Survey figures come from the Pew Research Center. Competitor figures come from the latest results published by Snap, Reddit and Meta. Figures were checked on 3 November 2026. Frequently Asked Questions About Pinterest Monthly Active Users

How many monthly active users does Pinterest have in 2026?

Pinterest had 661 million global monthly active users in Q3 2026, up 10% year on year.

How fast is Pinterest growing?

Users grew 10% over the year to Q3 2026, with the Rest of the World growing fastest at 13%. US and Canada grew 4% and Europe 7%.

How many Pinterest users are in the United States?

Pinterest reports 107 million MAU for the US and Canada combined. DataReportal estimates 96.9 million US advertising reach for late 2025, which is not the same measure.

How many people use Pinterest in India and the UK?

Pinterest does not publish country-level MAU, and we could not confirm a clear current figure for either country. Check DataReportal’s country reports and note that they show ad reach.

What percentage of Pinterest users are women?

There is no confirmed official share. Pew found 50% of US women and 19% of US men use Pinterest, but that shows usage within each group, not the audience mix.

Is Pinterest more popular than Instagram or Snapchat?

Snapchat last reported 956 million monthly users (Q1 2026), above Pinterest’s 661 million. Meta reports a combined daily figure across its apps rather than Instagram alone, so a fair comparison is not possible from official numbers.

What is the difference between Pinterest MAU and advertising reach?

MAU counts logged-in people active in the past 30 days. Advertising reach estimates the audience available to advertisers in Pinterest’s ad tools.

Does Pinterest report daily active users?

No. Pinterest’s headline user measure is monthly active users, reported quarterly.
