Short answer
TikTok does not pay a fixed rate for views, and it does not publish one. Creators who share their numbers commonly report about $0.40 to $1.00 for every 1,000 qualified views. That works out at roughly $400 to $1,000 for 1 million qualified views.
Two things matter here. First, only qualified views count, and those are usually fewer than your total views. Second, the $400 to $1,000 range is a third-party estimate, not an official TikTok figure. Your own result can be lower or higher.
If you have hit a million views on TikTok, or you are hoping to, this guide shows what that can realistically pay, how TikTok decides which views count, and what UK creators need to know. Figures are in US dollars because that is how TikTok and most reports state them. Everything was last checked on 5 November 2026.

How Much Does TikTok Pay for 1 Million Views?
Most guides repeat the same band: $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views. Some pages go wider, and one calculator site quotes up to $2.00. The chart below shows how far the published estimates spread. The old Creator Fund is included as a reminder of how little it paid.
The table uses three example rates so you can find your own range. These are illustrative calculations, not TikTok rates, and they assume every view is qualified.
| Qualified views | At $0.40 per 1,000 | At $0.70 per 1,000 | At $1.00 per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $0.40 | $0.70 | $1.00 |
| 10,000 | $4 | $7 | $10 |
| 100,000 | $40 | $70 | $100 |
| 500,000 | $200 | $350 | $500 |
| 1 million | $400 | $700 | $1,000 |
| 10 million | $4,000 | $7,000 | $10,000 |
How much for 1,000, 100,000 or 10 million views?
Use the same maths. At the reported range, 1,000 qualified views is under $1, 100,000 is roughly $40 to $100, and 10 million is roughly $4,000 to $10,000. A bigger number does not raise your rate. It only multiplies whatever rate you already earn.
Does TikTok Pay for Every View?
No. The Creator Rewards Programme pays on qualified views, not the total on your video. TikTok says a video starts collecting rewards once it passes 1,000 qualified For You feed views. Reports describe qualified views as unique views that are watched for a few seconds, with fraud, paid promotion and artificial views removed.
TikTok does not publish how many total views typically qualify. Some creator guides suggest it can be well below 100%, but treat that as anecdotal. The chart below is an illustration of the effect, not real data.
| Term | What it means | Does it affect pay? |
|---|---|---|
| Total views | Every view shown on the video | Not directly |
| Qualified views | Views that meet Creator Rewards rules | Yes, this is the pay basis |
| RPM | Revenue per 1,000 qualified views | Yes, it sets the rate |
How the Creator Rewards Programme Works
TikTok announced the Creator Rewards Programme on 18 March 2024. It replaced the earlier Creativity Programme Beta, which had itself replaced the Creator Fund in the US, UK, France and Germany from December 2023.
According to TikTok’s Help Centre, total rewards are made up of a Standard Reward, based on qualified views, and an Additional Reward, based on extra criteria. TikTok does not publish a per-view, per-1,000 or RPM rate. That is why every figure in this article is labelled as an estimate.
Creator Fund vs Creator Rewards
| Feature | Creator Fund | Creator Rewards Programme |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Closed in key markets | Current |
| Video length | No one-minute rule | At least 1 minute |
| Reported pay per 1,000 views | About $0.02–$0.04 | About $0.40–$1.00 (estimate) |
| Focus | Raw views | Original, qualified views |
What Are the Requirements to Get Paid on TikTok?
| Requirement | Creator Rewards Programme |
|---|---|
| Age | 18 or over (19 in South Korea) |
| Followers | At least 10,000 |
| Views | At least 100,000 in the last 30 days |
| Account | Personal account in good standing |
| Videos | Original, public and at least 1 minute long |
| Location | Living in an eligible country |
Followers alone do not unlock pay. You need the views, the right account type and clean standing too. Under-18s cannot join, so teenagers who want to earn should look at their options again at 18.
Can you earn without 10,000 followers?
Not from Creator Rewards. Smaller creators can still earn from brand deals or TikTok Shop affiliate sales, each with its own rules. Gifts on LIVE and similar features usually have their own follower and age conditions, so check the current rules in the app.
Why Do TikTok Earnings Vary So Much?
Two creators with the same view count can be paid very differently. TikTok ties rewards to qualified views and other criteria. Creator guides commonly name these factors, though TikTok does not publish how much each one counts:
- Audience location: views from some countries are widely reported to pay more than others, and only views from eligible countries qualify.
- Watch time: viewers who stay longer tend to signal better quality than people who scroll away.
- Originality: reposted, copied or lightly edited content can be excluded.
- Search value: videos that answer questions people actually search for can keep earning. Understanding AI search visibility tools can help you think about how your topics get found.
- Account standing: guideline strikes or fake engagement can remove you from the programme.
How Much Does TikTok Pay in the UK, US and India?
TikTok does not publish rates by country, and the programme is only open in selected markets. Reports commonly list the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico, but published lists disagree, so confirm in TikTok Studio before you plan around it.
| Country | TikTok app | Creator Rewards | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Available | Reported available | Same core rules reported. Check TikTok Studio. |
| United States | Available | Available | Most published earnings estimates relate to the US. |
| India | Banned | Not available | Blocked by government order since June 2020. |
India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology banned TikTok on 29 June 2020, so Indian creators cannot use TikTok’s official monetisation. Do not trust anyone who claims a VPN or a location change will fix that.
Other Ways to Make Money on TikTok
For many creators, view rewards are the smallest slice of income. Several creator guides say brand deals and affiliate sales often matter more, though TikTok publishes no average figures for any of these.
- Brand deals: brands pay you to feature a product. Audience fit and engagement usually matter more than raw views. UK-based influencers such as Molly-Mae are a good example, and Molly-Mae’s net worth comes mainly from business and brand work rather than video views.
- TikTok Shop affiliate: you earn commission when people buy a product through your video or LIVE. Commission depends on the seller and product.
- LIVE gifts: viewers send virtual gifts that convert to Diamonds. TikTok takes a share, and eligibility and conversion terms change, so read the current LIVE rules.
- Subscriptions and Series: paid access to extra content, where available.
Audience size matters here too. TikTok is one of several big platforms, and comparing Snapchat users and Pinterest monthly active users shows how differently each audience is built. If you are paid to promote something, UK rules also require you to label it clearly as an ad.
How and When Does TikTok Pay You?
Rewards are calculated after the month ends and paid around the 15th of the following month, once you pass the minimum payout. The threshold is the one detail sources disagree on. TikTok’s Help Centre has referred to $10 (or the local equivalent), while the US programme terms, as reported in 2026, cite $50 and say small unpaid balances can expire. TikTok can change this, so check the amount shown in your own Creator Rewards page.
| Rate used | Qualified views to reach $10 | Qualified views to reach $50 |
|---|---|---|
| $0.40 per 1,000 | 25,000 | 125,000 |
| $0.70 per 1,000 | about 14,286 | about 71,429 |
| $1.00 per 1,000 | 10,000 | 50,000 |
Tax on TikTok earnings in the UK
What TikTok pays you is gross income, not take-home pay. TikTok may ask for tax details before paying you. In the UK, income from creating content can count as trading income, and GOV.UK explains the trading allowance and when you must report income. This is general information, not tax advice, so speak to HMRC or an accountant about your own case.
TikTok earnings calculator
Enter your own qualified views and your own rate from your Creator Rewards dashboard. No rate is pre-filled because TikTok does not publish one. For example, 500,000 qualified views at $0.70 per 1,000 gives 500,000 ÷ 1,000 × 0.70 = $350.
Estimated gross earnings: $0.00
An estimate only, not a guaranteed payment.
Common TikTok Pay Myths and Scams
- “TikTok pays a set amount per view.” It does not. Pay depends on qualified views and a rate TikTok does not publish.
- “Every million views earns the same.” Qualification, audience and content all change the result.
- “Buying views boosts income.” Artificial engagement is not counted and can get you removed from the programme.
- “Online calculators show what you will earn.” They multiply a guessed rate. Never share your password or login with one.
- “Pay a fee to unlock monetisation.” This is a scam. Eligibility is checked inside TikTok, free of charge.
How to Check Your Eligibility
- Open TikTok and go to your profile, then the menu.
- Open TikTok Studio and find the Creator Rewards Programme.
- Check your followers, 30-day views, age and account type.
- Confirm the programme is available in your country.
- Add your payout method and any tax details, then post original videos of at least one minute.
Longer videos need strong scripts, and tools like those compared in Grammarly vs ChatGPT can help you tidy captions and voiceover notes, though they will not change how TikTok pays you.
FAQs About TikTok Pay
How much does TikTok pay per view?
There is no official per-view rate. Reported pay is about $0.0004 to $0.001 per qualified view, which is the $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 range. That is an estimate.
What is the average TikTok RPM?
TikTok publishes no average. Creator-reported RPM is commonly $0.40 to $1.00, with some sources quoting up to $2.00.
Does TikTok still have the Creator Fund?
No. It was replaced in the US, UK, France and Germany from December 2023, and the Creator Rewards Programme is now the main view-based scheme.
How long must a video be to earn money?
At least one minute, and it must be original and public.
When does TikTok pay creators?
Around the 15th of each month for the previous month’s rewards, once you reach the minimum payout shown in your account.
Can people in India earn directly from TikTok?
No. TikTok has been banned in India since June 2020, so its official monetisation is unavailable there.
Do likes and comments increase earnings?
TikTok does not say how engagement is weighted. Genuine engagement may help a video perform, but fake engagement can get you disqualified.
Is 1 million views worth it?
It is a real milestone, but on its own it usually pays a few hundred dollars at most. The bigger earnings tend to come from brand deals and affiliate sales that a large audience can unlock.
Final Thoughts
One million TikTok views is commonly reported to pay around $400 to $1,000 when every view is qualified, and less when many are not. TikTok publishes no rate, so treat every figure here as an estimate and check your own TikTok Studio dashboard for what you actually earn. Focus on original videos that keep people watching, and see Creator Rewards as one part of a wider income, not the whole of it.
