Nobody knows what Tyrus is worth, including the websites that print a number. George Murdoch has never published his finances, no major outlet has reported an audited figure, and the estimates in circulation run from about $2 million to $3.5 million with an outlier near $7 million. They are guesses copied between content sites.
What can be established is a career, and it is a more interesting one than the number. He wrestled for WWE as Brodus Clay, retired from the ring in 2023, now hosts his own OutKick show, and in 2026 published a children’s book written with his daughter.

What this article covers
The Net Worth Question, Answered Honestly
Search “Tyrus net worth” and you get a confident figure. Search it again and you get a different confident figure. That is because none of them are calculated.
| Where the figures come from | What that is worth |
|---|---|
| Entertainment-finance websites | The source of essentially every number in circulation. They estimate from visible career activity, and they copy one another |
| Tyrus himself | Has never published a figure |
| Fox News or OutKick | Media salaries are private. His pay has never been disclosed |
| Wrestling promotions | WWE, Impact and NWA contract terms are confidential |
| Book royalties | Never published. A New York Times bestseller tells you about sales rank, not about earnings |
| Audited accounts or filings | None are public |
Survey of published estimates, 20 October 2026. The range found was roughly $2m to $3.5m, with one outlier near $7m whose breakdown did not hold up.
Why this page no longer carries a celebrity comparison table. The previous version compared Tyrus to five other wrestlers using figures from the same unsourced sites — and listed a 2026 net worth for Hulk Hogan, who died on 24 July 2025. That is exactly how these numbers go wrong: once printed, they are copied for years without anyone rechecking the person is alive. We have taken the table out rather than repeat it.
If you want to see how wealth figures are built where real disclosure exists, our guides to the richest UK sports stars and UK celebrity wealth rankings set out which inputs are public and which are not. The same gap shows up in our profile of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, where the headline figure rests heavily on private business valuations.

Biographical detail cross-checked against his Fox News biography and published records.
Early Life, and the Injury That Changed It
Murdoch was born in Boston in February 1973 and spent part of his childhood in foster care after his family broke down. He has written and spoken openly about it, including periods of homelessness, and it is the spine of his first book.
He went to Quartz Hill High School, then Antelope Valley College, then the University of Nebraska–Kearney, where he trained to become a teacher and played for the Nebraska–Kearney Lopers.
The detail the old version of this page left out. His football career did not simply end — surgery for a ruptured appendix damaged nerves in his leg, leaving him with a permanent limp. He has wrestled and worked in television with it ever since. That is a more useful fact about the man than “football made him confident”.
Stories like this are the reason celebrity biography is worth doing properly rather than rewriting — our collection of celebrity early life stories takes the same approach.
The Wrestling Career, in Order
The old version of this page described one continuous run beginning in 2006. It was not continuous, and he was released twice before he found the character that worked.
The ending matters. Tyrus is a former wrestler, not a current one, and Fox News’s own biography says so. Any page still describing him as an active competitor is three years out of date.
For the business side of wrestling careers, see our profiles of John Cena and Dwayne Johnson, both of whom moved from the ring to film on very different terms.
Television, OutKick and Fox News
This is the part of the career that is current, and the part the old page covered least well.
- Fox News since 2016. He first appeared as a guest on The Greg Gutfeld Show in November 2016 and has been a regular panellist on Gutfeld! since April 2021. He has also appeared on The Five, Outnumbered, Fox & Friends and America’s Newsroom.
- Fox Nation. Co-hosted Un-PC from 2018 to 2019, then his own show Nuff Said, which premiered in June 2019.
- Fox News Saturday Night. He hosted the programme’s premiere in June 2023 and served as interim host through that year.
- Maintaining with Tyrus, on OutKick. His current show, which debuted on 1 February 2024 with Piers Morgan as its first guest. Fox News’s own biography leads with this role, not with wrestling.
- Acting. Credits include GLOW (2017), Preacher (2017), MacGyver (2017), The Purge (2018) and Love (2018), plus films including No One Lives (2012) and Stand On It (2020).
The through-line is a man who kept finding a second act — a pattern we have looked at across celebrity business ventures and in our piece on Jann Mardenborough, another career built by switching lanes.
Four Books, Not Two
The old page listed two. There are four, and the two it missed are the recent ones.
| Book | Published | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Just Tyrus: A Memoir | 2022 | His own account of foster care, homelessness and the route into wrestling. A New York Times bestseller |
| Nuff Said | 2023 | Commentary on life, family and public life |
| What It Is, America | 11 November 2025 | His third book, and missing entirely from the previous version of this page |
| Georgie and Her Great Horse Adventures | 2026 | A children’s picture book co-written with his daughter Georgie. A girl moves from Louisiana to New Jersey and bonds with an older horse called Roosevelt |
All four published by Post Hill Press. The 2026 title is listed by Simon & Schuster, ISBN 9798895652145.
The children’s book is the one worth noticing. A former wrestler co-writing a picture book with his twelve-year-old daughter, about a girl who moves to New Jersey, is a fair summary of where this career has arrived.
Family and Personal Life
Tyrus is married to Ingrid Rinck, a businesswoman who founded Sensible Meals, a prepared meal-plan company. They married on 7 January 2024.
- Their daughter Georgie Jane was born on 7 May 2014, and is now co-author of a published book.
- They raise a blended family, with children from previous relationships.
- The family is associated with New Jersey — the setting their 2026 children’s book moves its heroine to.
- He posts as @tyrussmash on Instagram and @PlanetTyrus on X.
He is also an example of a media figure whose reach now sits mostly outside traditional broadcast — the same shift we track in rising influencers to watch in 2026.
Corrections Made to This Page

| A 2026 net worth for Hulk Hogan | Hulk Hogan died on 24 July 2025. The whole comparison table was unsourced and has been removed |
| “Net worth is $2 million” as a fact | No verified figure exists. Estimates range from about $2m to $3.5m and none is sourced to a document |
| Raw interface markup from an AI writing tool, left in the page source | Removed. Two blocks of it wrapped the Career and Personal Life sections |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Tyrus’s net worth?
There is no verified figure. Tyrus has never published his finances and no major outlet has reported an audited number. Entertainment-finance websites put him anywhere between about $2 million and $3.5 million, with one outlier near $7 million. Treat all of them as guesses.
What is Tyrus’s real name?
George Timothy Murdoch. He was born on 21 February 1973 in Boston, Massachusetts, and is American.
Is Tyrus still a wrestler?
No. He retired in 2023. He lost the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship to EC3 in a bullrope match at NWA 75 on 27 August 2023 and retired afterwards. Fox News’s own biography describes him as a former professional wrestler.
What does Tyrus do now?
He hosts “Maintaining with Tyrus” on OutKick, which began on 1 February 2024 with Piers Morgan as its first guest, and he is a Fox News contributor who appears regularly on Gutfeld!. He joined Fox News in 2016.
What championships did Tyrus win?
Two in the NWA. The NWA World Television Championship, won in August 2021 and vacated on 24 September 2022, and the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship, won on 12 November 2022 at NWA Hard Times 3 by beating Trevor Murdoch.
Was Tyrus known by another name in WWE?
Yes — Brodus Clay, and from January 2012 the “Funkasaurus” character. Before that he wrestled in developmental as G-Rilla.
How many books has Tyrus written?
Four. Just Tyrus: A Memoir (2022), a New York Times bestseller; Nuff Said (2023); What It Is, America (11 November 2025); and Georgie and Her Great Horse Adventures (2026), a children’s picture book co-written with his daughter Georgie.
Why did Tyrus stop playing football?
Surgery for a ruptured appendix damaged nerves in his leg, leaving him with a permanent limp and ending his college football career at Nebraska–Kearney.
Who is Tyrus married to?
Ingrid Rinck, a businesswoman who founded the meal-plan company Sensible Meals. They married on 7 January 2024. Their daughter Georgie Jane was born on 7 May 2014.
Why do net worth figures for wrestlers vary so much?
Because almost none of them are calculated. Wrestling contracts are private, media pay is private, and book royalties are never disclosed. Most published figures are copied from each other, which is how an error survives for years once it is printed.
Conclusion
If you came for a number, the honest answer is that nobody has one. Tyrus has never disclosed his finances, his media pay is private, his wrestling contracts were confidential and his book royalties have never been published. Every figure online is an estimate built from the outside.
The career is clearer. George Murdoch came out of foster care, lost a football career to a surgical injury, was released by WWE twice before the Funkasaurus made him famous, won two NWA championships, retired from the ring in 2023, and now hosts his own show while writing books — the most recent with his daughter.
That is a more accurate picture than “$2 million”, and it is the part that can actually be checked.
